Man kills ex partner then takes own life

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 1 - A 47-year-old woman was shot dead early on Thursday in Villa Castelli, a town in the southern province of Brindisi, by her former partner, sources said.
    The man then hanged himself in his home, the sources said. The woman was gunned down as she was on her way to work at a textile factory, according to an initial reconstruction. The victim was the mother of two children from a previous relationship.
    The murder is the latest in a long strong of femicides of women in Italy by their partners or ex-partners. (ANSA).
