(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 19 - Former Formula One boss and billionaire businessman and playboy Flavio Briatore on Friday lamented the social-media glee that has met the semi-destruction of his famous Tuscan coastal resort discotheque by one of the tornadoes that have swept northern Italy in the last two days leaving two dead in Tuscany.
"A wind spout has destroyed half of Twiga," he said of the noted nightspot in the chic beach resort of Forte dei Marmi near Lucca.
"Reading the comments on social media, we have made a lot of people happy.
"I can't understand, what a country of spiteful losers we are...Twiga gives work to 150 people, it generates million-euro business for the area, but I'm happy to make so many people happy on a day like this.
"They're happy at the misfortune that happens." The former Benetton and Renault F1 boss and Queens Park Rangers chairman added: "I voice support and solidarity for all the watering holes of the Versilia area" and said "the handful of losers who are happy don't serve any consideration: they're sh**s".
Briatore, who was part-owner of the London soccer club, is also part-owner of Twiga.
There is another Twiga disco at Otranto in Puglia, and at other famed Italian resorts. (ANSA).
