Sheep farmer killed while looking after flock

(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 11 - A man died after being hit by lightning near Agrigento in Sicily on Wednesday afternoon, sources said Thursday.
    The 44-year-old farmer, Stefano Spoto, was looking after his flock of sheep when the bolt struck him.
    The accident happened at Casteltermini.
    The man's body was found along with his umbrella and phone by another farmer driving a tractor in the thunderstorm.
    The second man called the emergency services, but they could do nothing for the victim.
    An autopsy has been ordered.
    Italy is currently enduring a wave of violent thunderstorms which have caused lots of damage but broken the steamy 'afa' summer heat. (ANSA).
