(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 7 - Former centrist UDC Senator Salvatore
Totò Ruggeri was arrested Thursday for exchanging sex and gifts
for a job and votes, police said.
They said Ruggieri, also former Puglia welfare councillor,
received sex, boxes of fish including lobsters, fine wines and
cash in exchange for giving someone a job, other favours and
procuring votes.
They said Ruggieri, who was placed under investigation with four
other men, was part of a "system of corruption" in the southern
Italian region. (ANSA).
