Man gets 7-years, 8 months in jail for elevator rape

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 4 - A 31-year-old Libyan man was given a jail term of seven years, eight months on Monday at the end of a fast-track trial for raping and robbing a 44-year-old woman in an elevator in December last year.
    The attack took place at night in the lift that connects the garage to the apartment building where the woman lives in Segrate, near Milan.
    The man was arrested by Carabinieri police in January.
    DNA evidence and footage from closed-circuit video made it possible to convict the man. (ANSA).
