(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 14 - A piece of Rome's ancient Porta
Maggiore broke away and fell to the ground on Tuesday.
The piece broke away at around 6:15 from the gate, which is on
the eastern side of the third-century Aurelian Walls.
Police and firefighters intervened to seal off the area to
pedestrians. (ANSA).
