Bill passed stopping kids living with jailed mums

Outside facilities favoured, norm also valid for widowers

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 31 - A bill was passed Monday evening stopping children living with their mothers in Italian prisons.
The bill promotes facilities outside jails where convicted mothers can bring up their children, making sure that women with kids under the age of six do not end up in jail.
The measure is also valid for fathers when the mother is dead or otherwise unable to bring up the couple's children. (ANSA).
