'Selling policies like pulling girls' says bank official

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 3 - A top manager at Siena bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS) is in hot water after making remarks slammed as sexist to staff while discussing how to boost their sales of insurance policies.
The bank's chief commercial officer, Pasquale Marchese, allegedly repeated what he had heard from a top performing salesman in saying selling policies was like "pulling girls".
He allegedly said "it's like when you have to pull a girl, I try it on with them all, then one of them agrees".
The Tuscany rep of the women's section of Italy's largest and most leftwing union CGIL, Barbara Orlandi, said "the MPS manager was wrong and it was absolutely useful to denounce his words, they sadly won't be the last such ones but we hope that other cases receive the same treatment". (ANSA).
