Ukraine 'tragedy' concerns us all says president

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 25 - Italians will be intransigent, determined,and united in the face of Russian aggression in Ukraine, President Sergio Mattarella said Friday.
    Speaking the quake-hit town of Norcia, he said "the world does not intend to see the principles of co-existence trampled".
    Europeans, he said "will not bow to the violence of force: today it is Ukraine and tomorrow we don't know what targets".
    Mattarella said peace was in danger, and added that Europe could not accept the madness of war.
    "We cannot accept that the madness of war should destroy what the people of Europe have built. We did not just rise from the fratricidal wars of the past but we made a great effort to achieve a world of mutual respect and collaboration. A world that does not intend to see the principles of co-existence trampled.
    "Yesterday a new tragedy hit Europe, with violence and not on a single country but on the whole of Europe jeopardizing peace and freedom.
    "And this concerns all os us". (ANSA).
