Expo Dubai: Future of higher education spurring development

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 24 - The future of higher education is in spurring development, an event at the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai heard Monday.
    Higher education's future lies in mobilizing a community of knowledge and learning, represented by the UNESCO university chairs, and putting them at the service of governments and institutions to cope with the challenges currently facing the world, said UNESCO Deputy Director General for the education sector Stefania Giannini at the event dubbed "International UNESCO Chairs Forum on the Futures of Higher Education", marking International Education Day.
    "We must really seize the opportunity given by the pandemic crisis and move on from a competitive model to a cooperative model of development", she said at the event organized by the Italian Pavilion and UNESCO.
    The forum involved over 80 UNESCO Chairs. (ANSA).
