Man shoots, injures firefighter, barricades self in

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 19 - A man has barricaded himself in his home after shooting and injuring a firefighter on Wednesday in the Tuscan town of Torre del Lago, near Viareggio, sources said.
    The firefighter was assisting a municipal police officer who had gone to the man's home on official business.
    Sources said the firefighter was not seriously injured as the shot was softened after ricocheting off a door.
    The elderly father of the man who has barricaded himself in is also in the home, the sources said. (ANSA).
