(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 19 - A 36-year-old Italian hunter was
killed by a charging wild boar as he took part in a boar shoot
in the Maremma area of southern Tuscany near the coastal city of
Grosseto on Wednesday, local sources said.
The man shot and wounded the animal but was gored in the leg and
lost a critical amount of blood from his femoral artery, sources
said.
His fellow hunters and an emergency crew tried to staunch the
flow but to no avail.
The incident took place in the woods at Castell'azzara. (ANSA).
