(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 18 - Donations and transplants of organs, tissue and cells returned to pre-pandemic levels in 2021, according to a report by the National Transplants Centre.
It said donations rose by 12.1% and transplants were up by 9.9% to 3,778, 341 more than in 2020, making up for the drop of around 10% registered last year.
It said the regions with the highest number of transplants were Lombardy (686), Veneto (523) and Emilia Romagna (486). (ANSA).
