(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 17 - A 49-year-old Moroccan-born worker
was arrested Sunday after confessing to his employer that he had
smothered his wife and killed her in a small Calabrian town near
Catanzaro.
The couple had been rowing more frequently and more violently
lately, neighbours told police.
It is the umpteenth femicide in a wave that last year saw 118
women murdered, 70 by their current or former partners.
The numbers were up respectively from 110 and 67 in 2019.
