Cops foil showdown between youth 'warriors'

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 17 - Italian police at the weekend foiled a planned street battle showdown between two groups of 'warrior' youths near Turin.
    The two groups had set the rules of combat for their dust-up on social media, reminding officers of films like Martin Scorsese's sweeping 2002 picture of US Civil War era street violence, Gangs of New York, or Walter Hills 1979 hit The Warriors.
    Police said the street fight would have involved some 200 youths, Italian and foreigners, between the ages of 13 and 16.
    The battlefield had been chosen at Nichelino, just outside Turin. (ANSA).
