(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 4 - The number of electric cars on Italy's roads more than doubled in 2021, the electric mobility stakeholder group Motus-E said Tuesday.
The number of Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) rose by 128.4% to 136,754 registrations, said the group, which is currently campaigning against the government's failure to renew incentives for the sector.
In 2021, it said, some 67,255 battery-charged electric cars were registered, 107% up on 2020, and 69,499 hybrid PHEVs, up 153.75% on 2020.
Plug-in cars accounted for 9.35% of the total market, up from 4.33% in 2020, said Motus-E. (ANSA).
