(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 7 - Prosecutors in Prato on Tuesday filed a request to try three people over a textile mill accident death in the Tuscan city in May that raised the profile of a spate of fatal workplace accidents in Italy.
The death of 22-tyear-old Luana D'Orazio, mother of a five-year-old son, after she was trapped in a textile machine whose safety features had been changed caused shock waves across Italy.
Indictments are now being sought against the mill's official owner, Luana Coppini, her husband Daniele Faggi, the de facto owner, and an external maintenance technician, Mario Cusimano.
The three have been charged with culpable manslaughter and culpable removal of anti-injury systems. (ANSA).
