(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 30 - A 68-year-old gynaecologist from Bari
in Puglia has been arrested on suspicion of raping patients
after telling them sex could cure a vaginal virus, judicial
sources said Tuesday.
The man, Giovanni Miniello, was placed under investigation
following a segment on satirical investigative TV show Le Iene
(Reservoir Dogs).
In the segment, Miniello was shown proposing sex to two patients
as treatment for the papilloma virus, in September 2019 and last
June.
Miniello asked to be struck off amid the blowback from the
show.
The doctor has been placed under house arrest on suspicion of
sexual violence. (ANSA).
