(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 30 - Carabinieri police arrested 39 former
members of the Brenta crime gang in Venice and other Italian
cities overnight, sources said on Tuesday.
The suspects were allegedly seeking to reform the mafia-style
gang that ran rackets in the Brenta area of Veneto in the 70s
and 80s.
The probe is linked to an investigation coordinated by Venice
anti-mafia prosecutors in which around 80 people are being
probed for crimes including drugs trafficking, robbery and
extortion, the sources said. (ANSA).
