Friuli Venezia Giulia becomes COVID-19 yellow zone

Region gets early taste of measure whole nation will experience

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 29 - Friuli Venezia Giulia on Monday turned to moderate-risk yellow in Italy's tiered system of COVID-19-linked measures, making it the first region in several months to move from being a low-risk white zone, following an upswing in contagion.
This means that the north-eastern region is set to get an early taste of the measures that will apply to the rest of the nation next week, with people unvaccinated for the coronavirus excluded from a series of social, cultural and leisure activities.
As of December 6 people throughout Italy will need a 'Super Green Pass', which shows that they are vaccinated for COVID-19 or have recovered from it in the last six months, to be able to sit inside bars and restaurants or to go to the theatre, cinema or a soccer ground, among other things.
Furthermore, with Friuli Venezia Giulia turning yellow, it becomes obligatory for people to wear facemasks outdoors.
