(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 24 - Taxi drivers all over Italy were
striking on Wednesday in a protest against the government's
competition bill, which unions say introduces deregulation
favouring multinationals against small independent drivers.
The strike started at 8:00 and runs until 22:00.
Rome's central Piazza della Repubblica was closed to traffic as
thousands of taxi drivers gathered there for a march. (ANSA).
