Worker crushed to death by metal panel near Treviso

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 13 - A 48-year-old construction worker was crushed to death by a metal panel near Treviso on Wednesday.
    The man, from Pieve del Grappa, was hit by the panel which crushed his skull at a building site at Caerano San Marco, local sources said.
    The man died instantly, sources said.
    An autopsy has been ordered.
    It was the third workplace accident death in Italy in a day, as a recent spate of such deaths continued.
    A 58-year-old Italian warehouse worker died of her injuries in hospital Wednesday after being crushed by a pallet in the plastic stamping firm where she works near Florence on September 2.
    And a A 54-year-old Italian factory worker died in a fall from a catwalk at a wood panelling firm near Alessandria on Tuesday night.
    Italy is enduring a spate of workplace deaths which have roused union protests and spurred government action. (ANSA).
