(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 8 - The Senate health committee on
Wednesday approved a government bill ensuring the safety of
health care workers in the COVID emergency.
"It's a first important step," said Deputy Health Minister
Pierpaolo Sileri.
"We have applauded them, hailed them, and praised them during
the COVID emergency but this is a first concrete step towards
recognising what they have been enduring for years, even before
the virus arrived," he said.
The move comes after a string of rows over allegedly inadequate
provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) in some
hospitals during the early stages of the pandemic. (ANSA).
