(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 6 - The NGO-run migrant-rescue ship the Ocean Viking was still anchored off the Sicilian port of Porto Empedocle on Monday with 180 asylum seekers on board in compliance with orders from the Italian authorities.
Conditions on the ship are difficult as it has not been able to disembark the migrants after rescuing them late last month.
They are set to be moved to a quarantine ship, the Moby Zazà, but first 169 people who are currently on it must be transferred after they tested negative for COVID-19.
,A 'red zone' has been set up on the Moby Zazà to host 30 migrants who have tested positive for the coronavirus.
League leader Matteo Salvini said the situation shows "Italy is once again Europe's refugee camp.
"The government is the accomplice of human traffickers," Salvini added. (ANSA).
