New coronavirus hotspots create alarm

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 26 - Several new coronavirus hotspots have raised fresh concern about the spread of COVID-19 in Italy.
    The most delicate situation is in the town of Mondragone, in the province of Caserta.where an Army contingent has been sent in after clashes ensued when a 'red zone' area was sealed off to prevent contagion spreading.
    This move was taken after after 49 people living in the so-called 'former-Cirio buildings tested positive for COVID-19.
    Clashed have erupted between Bulgarian nationals inside the red zone, who want to leave it to be able to work on local farms, and Italian residents who want the red zone to be respected.
    The authorities have reportedly lost track of some of the people who have tested positive.
    Another situation of concern regards dozens of employees of Bologna's Bertolini transport-and-delivery firm that have contacted the coronavirus too.
    The company has closed a warehouse but has not halted activity.
    The authorities are considering conducting swabs on all the firm's employees.
    The region of Liguria, meanwhile, reported 12 new positive cases at a residential care home in Genoa.
    On Thursday the health ministry said that Italy had registered 296 new cases of the coronavirus in the previous 24 hours, a figure that was significantly higher than the data for the rest of the week. (ANSA).
