(ANSA) - Rome, April 1 - Deaths doubled in the north of Italy
in the first three weeks of March with respect to their average
in 2015-19 and have risen by 400% in coronavirus hotspot
Bergamo, ISTAT said Wednesday.
In Bergamo deaths have risen from an average of 91 in 2015-19
for an equivalent period to 398 in 2020, the statistics agency
said.
"The same increments have been seen in much of the
surrounding province," ISTAT said.
