Probe into delivery-rider exploitation

(ANSA) - Milan, September 19 - Milan prosecutors said Thursday that they have opened a probe to verify whether food-delivery riders are the victims of exploitation. The investigation will look into possible violations of the laws on workplace health and safety and whether gangmaster mechanisms are used to provide the food-delivery services.
    The probe will also examine the possible exploitation of undocumented migrants.
    Checks run on 30 riders in August found that three were undocumented migrants.
