Cops knew Cucchi secret autopsy report

Report said not possible at time to determine cause of death

(ANSA) - Rome, March 8 - Public prosecutor Giovanni Musarò said on Friday during the trial over the death of Stefano Cucchi, a Roman draughtsman who died in police custody in 2009, that police knew of a preliminary autopsy report that had been kept secret. "On October 30, 2009, a preliminary report on the initial results of Cucchi's autopsy was kept secret, but the provincial and Rome police knew about it," Musarò said. The report emphasised that "the damaging nature of the injuries at the time did not allow for accurately ascertaining the cause of death".
