(ANSA) - Genoa, January 23 - Police in Genoa on Wednesday found graffiti insulting the memory of Guido Rossa before an event commemorating the 40th anniversary of the murder of the trade unionist by Red Brigades (BR) terrorists. The graffiti also expressed admiration for the BR.
It was found in an area of the city where the BR assassinated prosecutor Francesco Coco and two members of his security detail in June 1976.
President Sergio Mattarella, meanwhile, hailed Rossa, a former union man at the ILVA steelworks, at Wednesday's event.
"With his family, Guido Rossa paid the supreme price of someone who wanted to stay true to the values of the republic," the head of State said.
