Baby dead after being thrown onto floor

(ANSA) - Vicenza, January 21 - A three-day-old baby girl died at Vicenza's San Bortolo late on Sunday after being thrown onto the floor by her mother at the family home, sources said on Monday. The 41-year-old mother then tried to commit suicide by cutting her throat but was stopped by her husband, who called the emergency services.
    The woman was arrested and taken to a psychiatric unit, the sources said.
