(ANSA) - Rome, January 17 - Premier Giuseppe Conte said
Thursday the government would accelerate reconstruction in
central Italian areas hit by massive earthquakes in August and
October 2016.
Speaking after meeting with local governors, Conte said "we
will accelerate the post-quake reconstruction overcoming the
problems of past management".
He said the government was "at work side by side with local
institutions to reach shared objectives in the interest of the
stricken communities".
The August 2016 quake killed 300 people and devastated
villages in Lazio, Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo.
The October quake wreaked further huge damage.
