(ANSA) - Reggio Calabria, December 27 - An order to kill the
brother of a Calabrian 'Ndrangheta mafia informant in Pesaro on
Christmas Day probably came from Calabria, Reggio Calabria
anti-mafia sources said Thursday.
Marcello Bruzzese, 51, brother of Biagio Girolamo Bruzzese,
was riddled with 30 bullets in the Marche seaside town where he
was under "economic protection" but where his name was listed
openly on his building's intercom.
Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said Bruzzese had asked to
be removed from the protection programme.
Replying to a woman who shouted at him "You can't die like
this in Pesaro", Salvini said "those who made mistakes will be
sacked".
