Proposal to replace Totocalcio-Totogol

(ANSA) - Rome, December 18 - An amendment to the budget bill would see Italy's long-standing Totocalcio football pools and the similar Totogol and 'Il 9' games replaced by a new single competition. These betting pools are cheap to enter and offer big jackpots, although they are tough to win as predictions related to several different matches have to come off.
    The amendment, which has not yet been approved by the Senate's budget committee, would see the new game exempt from a ban on betting advertising, as these pools are not considered addictive.
