(ANSA) - Rome, December 14 - One school canteen in three out
of the 224 inspected by NAS Carabinieri health police since the
start of the school year presented irregularities while seven
were closed due to serious hygienic issues, Health Minister
Giulia Grillo said on Friday.
Over two tons of food were seized as part of the operation.
Authorities have issued fines worth over 576,000 euros, the
minister also said, explaining that Carabinieri police found
"expired food, grave hygienic deficiencies, even mice and
parasites - a horror film".
