(ANSA) - Rome, October 23 - Italy's Constitutional Court on Tuesday adjourned until Wednesday a hearing on the case of right-to-die activist Marco Cappato, who is accused of assisting suicide for helping 40-year-old blind and tetraplegic Italian ex-DJ Fabiano Antoniani, better known as DJ Fabo, take his own life.
Cappato accompanied DJ Fabo to the Swiss clinic where he committed assisted suicide last year. The Constitutional Court's decision could be a landmark ruling.
The court adjourned proceedings late Tuesday until Wednesday.
A ruling may be issued on Wednesday, judicial sources said.
In February a Milan court sent the case to the top court, asking it to verify whether a Fascist-era article in the criminal code that punishes instigation to suicide, Article 580, complies with the Constitution. Cappato and DJ Fabo's partner Valeria Imbrogno were in court on Tuesday.
