2018 hottest year for Italy since 1800

Record highs in January and April says report

(ANSA) - Rome, October 8 - As of September 30, 2018 has been the hottest year in Italy since 1800, when measurements began, with temperatures 1.53 degrees above average, according to an ISAC-CNR report Monday.
    "Among these first nine months," said ISAC-CNR climatologist and author of the study Michele Brunetti, "we should pick out in particular April, which was the hottest April ever," and January, the second hottest ever".
    Italy basked in a long heat wave this year.
