(ANSA) - Ancona, September 21 - Italy's anti-corruption czar
Raffaele Cantone on Friday stopped a project to build 46 council
flats out of an industrial property at quake-hit Tolentino in
Marche, replacing temporary dwellings.
Cantone halted the project because it envisaged a "negotiated
procedure without prior publication of the tender".
The project organisers argued that they could be exempted
from a public tender because of the emergency nature of the
housing.
Cantone disagreed.
