(ANSA) - Novara, April 19 - The city council in Novara has
denied its support to the annual Gay Pride event in the
northwestern Italian city, causing a clash with the Piedmont
regional government.
The government said the event "is an opportunity to affirm
rights".
The council retorted: "Gay Pride is just folklore".
