(ANSA) - Siracusa, May 17 - A fire broke out at around 2:00
on Wednesday in the infectious diseases department of Siracusa's
Umberto I hospital. Police took 16 patients in the department to
safety and that wing of the hospital has been closed. Some
nurses who helped evacuate the patients suffered smoke
inhalation.
