(ANSA) - Rome, January 18 - The Senate on Wednesday approved
a resolution presented by the ruling majority after Justice
Minister Andrea Orlando reported to parliament.
The minister reported that Italy's justice system was
improving, with the number of outstanding civil and criminal
cases coming down, taking it nearer to the EU average.
He also called for approval of a bill to reform the criminal
law system.
The resolution was passed by 139 votes in favour, 54 against
and 43 abstentions.
