Court removes 'effeminate' boy from mum

Mother's attorney calls decision 'pure discrimination'

(ANSA) - Venice, January 10 - The juvenile court of Venice has placed a Padua boy in the care of social services after declaring both of the boy's parents as "lapsed in parental responsibility" following a report by social services that said the boy has "sexual identification difficulties", said Padua daily Il Mattino on Tuesday.
The mother's attorney, Francesco Miraglia, called the decision "pure discrimination".
Miraglia referred to a passage in the court order that references a report by social services that said the boy has a "personality disorder".
"He tends in all ways to affirm that he's different and flaunts effeminate behavior in a provocative way," the report said.
The court's decision follows a previous ruling in which the child was placed in a group home from 7:00 to 19:00 daily, after which the child's behavior was brought to the attention of social services, leading to the current ruling.
The current decision will be the subject of a hearing next week at which the parents have been convened.
