Op saves life of Afghan drug mule

(ANSA) - Milan, December 9 - A 21-year-old Afghan drug mule had an operation to save his life after a number of heroin balloons split open inside him while travelling from Germany to Italy, Milan police said Friday.
    The man arrived by bus in Milan Thursday evening and complained of severe stomach pains, after which he was rushed to hospital and operated on.
    Doctors found 18 balloons in his stomach and several more in his colon.
    He is in a serious but non-life-threatening condition, medical sources said.
