(ANSA) - Rome, December 7 - Just over one person in five,
22.7%, smokes in Italy compared to almost one in four, 24%, in
the European Union, Eurostat said Wednesday.
Some 21.6% of the European population is exposed to passive
smoke, it said.
Sweden and the UK have the lowest smoking rates, (16.7% and
17.2%), and the black sheep is Bulgaria with 34.7%.
