(ANSA) - Bologna, December 7 - A Bologna court on Wednesday
acquitted seven former city council officials and transport
chiefs including ex-mayor Flavio Delbono in a trial for alleged
abuse of office and contract-rigging for a proposed People
Mover, an overhead shuttle linking the city's airport and train
station.
The seven were acquitted for insufficient evidence.
Work on the shuttle has been ongoing for a few months.
Delbono, a member of outgoing Premier Matteo Renzi's
centre-left Democratic Party (PD), was Bologna mayor from 25
June 2009 to 17 February 2010.
