Six probed for deaths of three (2)

(ANSA) - Messina, December 2 - Messina prosecutors on Friday placed six people under investigation for the deaths of three naval workers on board the 'Sansovino' ship Tuesday. Possible charges include multiple manslaughter, judicial sources said. Autopsies will be carried out later Friday. A fourth worker is still in very serious condition after taking ill while working on fuel tanks on the Caronte & Tourist ferry anchored in Messina port in a workplace accident that saw his three fellow workers die.
    Ferdinando Puccio, 36, was initially mistakenly reported to have died after inhaling toxic fumes while performing a welding job on the Sansovino ferry on Tuesday.
    The other confirmed victims are Gaetano D'Ambra, 27, Christian Micalizzi, 38, and Santo Parisi, 51.
    The ship's captain Salvatore Virzi' is also reported to be in a serious condition.
