(ANSA) - Ragusa, November 17 - Over 150 officers took part
Thursday morning in a massive operation against an alleged
international drug trafficking ring.
Arrest warrants were issued for 17 individuals by the Catania
anti-mafia unit in Sicily and 17 search warrants were issued for
others after investigations by the Modica and Ragusa police.
Investigators say that the ring controlled drug trafficking
from Albania to Ragusa and included people of several
nationalities.
Six women were among those arrested: two Italians, two
Albanians, one Pole and one Moroccan.
The women's children have been handed over to the care of
their grandparents.
