Migrant barricades 'won't be precedent' (2)

Women's presence prompted re-routing

(ANSA) - Rome, October 26 - A northern Italian town's raising of barricades against refugees and forcing them to be sent elsewhere "will not set a precedent", Interior Minister Angelino Alfano said Wednesday. He said the specific circumstances including the fact that the 12 refugees were women with children had prompted the authorities' decision to re-route them from Goro to three other towns in the PO Delta. Alfano said no anti-migrant road blocks would be permitted anywhere else. Goro and another nearby town, Gorino, were widely condemned for the barricades against the women, one of whom was pregnant, who had come from Nigeria, New Guinea and Ivory Coast.
