(ANSA) - Rome, October 20 - A crusading former prosecutor
was acquitted Thursday of extorting and slandering the wife of a
man he was investigating.
Magistrate Donato Ceglie was found not guilty of forcing
Maria Rosaria Granata to have sex with him in exchange for
favors for her husband, who owns a waste treatment company and
whom Ceglie was investigating.
The prosecution had requested a six-year prison sentence.
Ceglie has reported the woman for slander and defamation.
