(ANSA) - Reggio Calabria, July 6 - Carabinieri police on
Wednesday placed four public employees under house arrest in the
southern Calabria region and issued precautionary measures
against 20 others in relation to a probe into absenteeism.
The 24 suspects work at the municipal offices of the towns
of Oppido Mamertina, Taurianova, Varapodio, Palmi and Terranova
Sappo Minulio in the province of Reggio Calabria.
They face charges of aggravated fraud against the state for
faking their presence at work with clocking-in fraud.
