Man went back to sleep after Solomon (2)

(ANSA) - Rome, July 5 - Massimo Galioto, the homeless man suspected of pushing American student Beau Solomon to his death in the River Tiber, went back to sleep with his companion in their tent on the riverbank after his alleged crime, police said Tuesday. Prosecutors have charged Galioto, 40, with homicide aggravated by futile motives. He has reportedly admitted having argument with the 19-year-old University of Michigan student, during which Solomon allegedly slipped over the embankment edge into the water. Galioto, who has a record for petty crime, then failed to raise an alarm and instead returned to his tent close to Ponte Garibaldi. Solomon, who was in Rome for a five-week course at John Cabot University, disappeared at around 1 a.m.
    Friday after drinking with fellow students in a Trastevere pub.
    His body was found in the river Monday with a deep gash to the head, presumably caused by bashing his head on his way down into the Tiber, police said.
